If dubstep isn't your thing, skip right to the benchmark

GPU reviews nowadays reference 3DMark and Heaven benchmarks almost all the time, but there might be a new one on the list soon.

By going to Allbenchmark.com, you can sign up for testing the closed BETA of Catzilla.

What is it, you ask? Basically, it is a synthetic benchmark that, like Heaven and 3D Mark, employs a scripted 3D approach to see how well a video adapter or integrated GPU is expected to perform.

For those who want details, it is a cross-API benchmark with support for multi-core CPUs (a parallel graphics engine makes it happen), DirectX 9, DirectX 11 and OpenGL 4.0 under Windows XP / Vista / 7 / 8, both 32- and 64-bit.

We don't know for sure when the first public release will take place. Probably in a couple of months.

In the meantime, watch the video embedded above for the trailer, or skip it if the dubstep near the end is not an all-time favorite.
