As a matter of fact, Boyle, the biggest underdog sensation on the “Britain’s Got Talent” competition, has touched so many people that even the biggest Hollywood stars are rushing to get the chance to play her on the big screen in a movie that has not yet even been officially announced, the Daily Mail says.
Gorgeous Catherine Zeta Jones is said to be one of these many celebrities who would literally do anything for a chance to play Boyle in an upcoming biopic. The Welsh actress is said to have been so impressed by Boyle’s rendering of “I Dreamed a Dream” on the popular British talent competition that she hardly waited for it to end before placing a call and voicing her intention of being considered for the lead part in the biopic, the aforementioned publication says, citing sources from inside “Britain’s Got Talent.”
“This is one of many requests we have had to play her [Miss Boyle], for movie deals and for stories of her life. All these people are coming out and want to be associated with her. She is the biggest thing in the world. It is mental.” an unnamed source from the talent competition that elevated Boyle to the status of international superstar says for the Mail. When contacted for comments on this rumor, a rep for Susan Boyle said that she would not respond in any way, while a US publicist for Catherine Zeta Jones stated that, at the moment, there were no plans for her to play Boyle.
Of course, speculation about a movie based on the common life of the 47-year-old churchgoer and her impressively rapid rise to stardom has been making the rounds for a while now, since it became clear that she was, indeed, the biggest surprise the music industry had seen in years. Famed director James Cameron, who also helmed the blockbuster “Titanic,” also expressed an intention of working on the project when he learned of the rumors, so perhaps seeing Catherine Zeta Jones as Susan Boyle, the “Hairy Angel,” would not be too much of a stretch, it is being said.
