Grammy Awards ceremony brings rage between stars. It's been reported that pop diva Mariah Carey is extremely furious with the producers of the Awards because they selected "Hung up" singer Madonna to open the ceremony instead of her.
The "New York Daily News" paper wrote that the singer "really wanted to open the show with her choir-backed rendition of 'We Belong Together'," but got very disappointed when she was told it wasn't going to happen…
On the other hand, Madonna reportedly threatened the event's producers, saying she would boycott the show unless they gave her the prime opening spot. Scared by the threatening diva, they agreed to let her be the one to open the ceremony, although her album "Confessions On A Dance Floor" wasn't even nominated for a Grammy award.
It's believed that the producers took into considerration that Madonna is a five-time Grammy winner, while Mariah Carey has only got two awards so far. Bottom line, Madonna will open the show tonight with an extravagant show, featuring animated British group Gorillaz.
There are rumors that say neither Madonna, nor Carey will walk the red carpet at tonight's event… Maybe the two divas are afraid of not bumping into each other and making the carpet "bloody red"!
