'Catch .44' Looks Entertaining but a Bit Tired

Think every movie Guy Ritchie made (except the Sherlock Holmes ones) and “Pulp Fiction” and you get an idea of what you're to expect from “Catch .44.” The first trailer for it is now out.

Written and directed by Aaron Harvey (“The Evil Woods”) the film looks like a classic (and a bit tired) gangster thriller where you think you know what it's about, only to have the rug pulled from under you in a flash.

However, unlike many other releases that strove to reach the bar set by Ritchie and Tarantino and failed, this one actually seems to stand a good chance of getting somewhere in the vicinity of the two.

If all else fails, at least it has a very strong cast, which includes Bruce Willis (who can be charming in any role he takes), Forrest Whitaker (who's working with a strange accent) and Malin Akerman.

Nikki Reed, Deborah Ann Woll, Brad Dourif and Shea Wigham also make appearances.

“Catch .44” is out in theaters in New York and Charlotte, NC on December 9, and will the head straight to DVD and Blu-ray.

Check out the trailer above to see if it's something you want to include in your collection.
