20-year-old Brazilian woman Catarina Migliorini made headlines after she sold her virginity online, on the Virgins Wanted website, for a documentary about growing pains and exploring adulthood.
Social worker Sheva Marcus, a self-proclaimed specialist in the matter, with a master's degree from Columbia University and a PHD in philosophy, has come forward with the claim that Catarina cannot prove her virginity beyond any doubt, GlobalGrind reports.
Virgins Wanted claims the buyer, in this case a Japanese man using the online alias Natsu, can rest assured as a proper gynecological work-up has been performed.
“The female virgin will undergo a medical examination by an accredited gynecologist and provide the winning bidder with medical evidence of her virginity. The virgin must provide a document from the gynecologist that certifies her claim to virginity. The accompanying medical certificate will be a statutory declaration that supports her claim to virginity,” they say.
However, Marcus refuses the theory that one can determine a woman's virginity by a physical examination of her hymen, which, in some women, is flexible, and offers no real proof of Catarina's chastity.
