Earlier this month, Alanna lost its owner, and was brought to an adoption center in Warrington, England. Unfortunately for the cat, it cannot yet be put up for adoption, simply because it is too fat.

Specifically, vets who have had the chance to examine it say that the feline weighs about 50% more than it should. Thus, it tips the scale at about 6.5 kilograms (14.3 pounds).

“She’s a really friendly and playful but can’t run around like normal cats due to her podgy belly,” a spokesperson for the Cats Protection adoption center in Warrington said, as cited by Daily Mail.

Furthermore, “She’s certainly been over-eating, which can be quite common with elderly owners.”

Apparently, Alanna ended up weighing a tad too much after feasting on cheese, chocolate, and cream.

Staff at the adoption center stress that whoever wants to adopt this cat must see to it that the feline maintains a healthy diet, and does not binge eat all sorts of treats again.
