14 DAY TRIAL // A cat was caught bringing in two phones into a Russian prison, in Syktyvkar in the Komi province.
Guards spotted the feline as it was trying to get past the fence, and they approached it because something seemed fishy about it.
Upon closer inspection, they discovered two phones taped to cat's fluffy belly. The package also contained batteries and chargers for the phone, making it significantly larger.
Officials believe that an accomplice of the inmates' rigged the animal to bring in the illegal shipment into the labor camp in northern Russia, 600 miles (965 km) from Moscow. They add that the cat cannot provide them with any information on the matter.
“Obviously we can’t question the cat, but someone somewhere knows who he was delivering these items to and we will hold him until we find out,” Daily Mail quotes a jail spokesperson as stating.
