Castlevania: Curse of Darkness is a video game created and published by Konami Interactive. It
was developed for the PlayStation 2 console from Sony and for the Xbox from Microsoft and published in 2005. The game is classed as an action and role playing title with a medieval and fantasy theme played from a third person perspective.
It will allow the player to take on the role of Hector, who is a former servant of Dracula, who is still a threat. He is also a Devil Forgemaster but he wants no longer to be associated with evil and to live a normal life. The problem is that another servant of Dracula has cast a curse on Europe. Hector is the only one who can breake it. The fact that he is a Forgemaster allows him to create familiars that can fight on his side. The familiars are able to morph into different forms depending on the level of the player and the weapons he chooses to wield.
There are some interesting role playing elements in the game, mainly revolving around character attributes and experience. There's also a wide array of weapons that you can use, such as axes, swords, spears, knuckles and shields. The game will also offer you the chance to pick up bronze, steel and aluminum or having extra amounts of materials to create new weapons or improve existing ones.
The current combo system in the game will allow the player to easily beat up enemies and will make fights interesting.
GAMEPLAY HINTS
Get character objects
Death
Steal: Death's Pulse
Uses: Death's Scythe (strongest weapon in the game, because of the sheer difficulty to get this item)
First, make sure you have practiced your Perfect Guards. When fighting Death, have a Fairy-type ID summoned. After losing the first lifebar, Death will sparingly (perhaps twice in ten minutes) use a Supernova attack. He will condense a fireball in his hands for a brief moment, then throw it out onto the battlefield. Stay next to Death while he does this. Prepare yourself. Block the first hit from the Supernova, then proceed to Perfect Guard the rest of the hits, which are in a specific rhythm. If one is accidentally guarded, then you have one chance to Perfect Guard the next. If you do not, you must to start over. Jump into the air after the last hit, but before the fire dissipates and steal. The window will open, then close, but the game will acknowledge that you have Death's Pulse. Fortunately, Death sometimes does this attack twice in a row, if you should fail the first time.
Legion
Steal: Pizza
Uses: HP Restore
Fight Legion normally, using a longer range weapon with decent speed, like the Chavre-Souris or the Laser Blade so you can take out both Legion and the corpses that will do heavy damage to you. Also, use a flying ID, like a Crimson or Indigo or The End. After its shell collapses entirely, get on a ledge higher than it. You have about 12 to 15 seconds to move to a higher point. Take a free fall into Legion when it glows with a malevolent purple aura. Time the steal to take the Pizza in mid-fall. Quickly run to the edge of the room to avoid Legion's final shell from crushing you and prepare for Legion's new second form.
