Just needs to be approved by Microsoft

Without a doubt, one of the most popular games on the Xbox Live Arcade is Castle Crashers, as it has reached over 250,000 downloads in just weeks after launch. The game, a classic side scrolling adventure puzzler, puts players in the armor of four knights who must venture out in a kingdom inhabited by fantasy creatures in order to save a princess.

The game became very popular due to its cartoon like drawing style and use of interesting magic abilities and powers, custom to each of the four knights. Sadly, it was plagued by quite a lot of bugs, as players would find themselves with their save games erased or couldn't connect to an online game no matter what they tried.

At the time, The Behemoth, the studio behind the title, said that a patch would be developed in order for any player to get the maximum out of the release. Sadly, a considerable amount of time has passed since this announcement, which was made in September, and no other statement has been made by the studio.

After having been contacted by X3F, the studio declared that the patch was done, but was going through the approval process from Microsoft, which might take a while. A lot of problems have been fixed, read the statement, but since it isn't out yet, the team can't talk about them. The studio thanks the fans for their patience and assures them that this new patch will make the annoying problems long forgotten.

“We're working with Microsoft to get the title update out as quickly as we can. Sadly, we can't get into details about the certification process, but we've resolved the game's issues with data loss and networking in addition to other bugs. We've received great support from our fans on our forums in identifying issues. That feedback has helped out a lot and we're really honored to have such an awesome group of fans in the community.”

It's nice to hear that the patch has been made, but a considerable amount of time has passed since the launch of the game, and players might have lost interest in the title. Let's just hope that Microsoft will approve this patch as quickly as possible and all of the players will receive it soon.
