Created by Tyra Banks, America's Next Top Model show exposes the transformation of everyday young women into potential top supermodels. The participants get new looks and professional training.
Cassandra Whitehead is the first quitter of the show.
In an interview for TVGuide, she declared that she was
aware from the very beginning of the physical transformation that she was to be submitted to. But she couldn't cope with the psychically change that was requested from her. She would have had to play a character not only in the front of the camera, but also in her real life. And keep it even after the show.
"They wanted me to act edgy and punk and to stop being so classy. They told me that I needed to hunch and slouch and give attitude," Cassandra confessed.
She allowed them to cut her hair and dye it blond, but she gave up fame rather than change her persona.
"No matter what type of image you're trying to portray, I think it's important that you act like a lady," believes Cassandra Whitehead.
