For the past couple of weeks, there has been a lot of talk about how Jennifer Lopez would not return for a third season on American Idol because her schedule was too packed and she no longer had the time for it. As it turns out, Casper Smart, her beau, actually advised her to leave the show.
InTouch Weekly claims in its latest print issue (story via
CB) that, even though she said she hadn't yet made up her mind about it, JLo is set on leaving Idol, having already informed the show's bosses about her decision.
Casper Smart, her backup dancer and current boyfriend, is believed to have been instrumental in the making of said decision, in that he urged her to ditch the show because he wanted her to spend more time with him.
In other words, InTouch says, Casper actually contributed to Jennifer making the worst business decision of her life, because the network paid her a lot to be on the judges panel.
“Jealous of all the time she was spending away from home – and with cute Idols like Phillip Phillips – Casper urged her to quit the plum gig and focus on their relationship instead. And remarkably, JLo is listening,” the weekly states.
Having made up her mind, Jennifer has already communicated her decision to Simon Cowell and Idol bosses, who, understandably, are none too happy about it.
But Jennifer is only focused on keeping Casper happy right now, it is further said.
“Casper would love it she would
just chill out and travel with him,” an insider is quoted as saying, adding that, in recent months, Lopez had been “overwhelmed and he picked up on that.”
“She had her relationship, music, movies, Idol and being a good mom. She loved being on Idol, but something had to give, so she took Casper’s advice,” the spy goes on to say.
As expected, Lopez's people are fuming mad that she would just drop out of Idol after it helped her make her splashing comeback, throwing these past 2 years of work down the drain.
They believe that Casper Smart is
a bad influence on her, at least business-wise, and they want him out of the picture if possible.
“If anything should go, it should be Casper. Everyone is annoyed that Jennifer is taking business advice from Casper. She’s a fool for love,” another source says for the same publication.
