When it comes down to projectors, style is one word that you don't hear all that often but this isn't the case when we are talking about Casio's Green Slim projector line, these units coming with an outrageously slim design as well as some nice performance number to make things even more interesting.
Compared to previous models, Casio's XJ-A255V, XJ-A250, XJ-A155V and XJ-A150 projectors now come with improved brightness thanks to a mercury-free, laser and LED hybrid light source, capable of delivering 3,000 lumens, making these not just another pretty face to look at.
Furthermore, this brightness is available throughout the whole line, weather we are talking about WXGA or
XGA resolution models, the contrast ratio being set at 1800:1 across the board.
All these projector models also come with HDMI, composite A/V and VGA inputs as well as an 1W monaural speaker, the V models featuring an USB port that can be used together with the included 802.11b/g/n WiFi adapter to provide wireless networking access.
As it' usually the case with most projectors out there, the USB port can also be used for displaying presentations, pictures as well as AVI movies, the wireless adapter also coming with a special software that allows users to project up to four Windows PC screens simultaneously.
“Casio is proud to build on the Green Slim line of mercury-free
projectors with the addition of the 3,000 lumen models,” said Frank Romeo, vice president of Casio’s Business Projector Division.
“The additions demonstrate the advancements of technology and convey Casio’s commitment to establishing the Casio Hybrid Light source as the industry’s premier solid state lighting solution.”
As far as availability is concerned, these new Green Slim models will reach stores shelves sometime in November, the recommended retail pricing being set between $1,499 and $1,799, depending on the model.
