14 DAY TRIAL // The female version of O.J. Simpson, as some media outlets have labeled her, Casey Anthony is about to start making serious money on her 15 minutes in the spotlight. The most likely options for her right now are either a Playboy spread or a reality show, aside from doing media interviews, says a new report.
Anthony got the attention of the local and international media in June 2008, when her daughter Caylee (who was almost 3 years old at the time) went missing and she didn’t report it for 31 days.
She stood trial on first degree murder, aggravated manslaughter of a child, and child abuse, and was pronounced not guilty on all charges, save four counts of providing false information to a law enforcement officer.
Her trial ended the other day and has caused quite a ruckus in the media, because most of those who have kept an eye on the case believed her to be guilty of killing her own daughter and then dumping her body in a wooden area close to her home.
Now that interest in her has reached an unprecedented peak, Anthony is expected to make the most of it in the hope of launching a “career” in showbiz, PopEater believes.
One alternative for her to do that would be to do a Playboy spread, which would not only offer her a good platform and proper exposure, but also a hefty paycheck for only a few days of work.
“While she may have escaped jail time she is far from free. Her lawyers fees have, I’m sure, stacked up, that coupled with a personality that for sure is seeking fame and attention will I’m sure drive her to a Playboy layout (quick money) or a reality show,” Talent Executive Lori Levine, founder of Flying Television, says for the aforementioned e-zine.
Even if Playboy seems the most convenient and profitable option right now, that doesn’t exclude the possibility of Anthony doing a reality show as well – perhaps a “Road to Redemption” type of series, PopEater writes.
The twist is that Anthony will probably get only two proper shots at fame, after a handful interviews. She will also not make more than half a million dollars, industry insiders believe.
Even so, she should consider making her (quick) buck and then fleeing the country. After all, she will not have that much of a life in the US, after all.
“Given the extreme amount of hatred, actual furious hatred, towards Casey being displayed by a majority of the American public, her options seem to be somewhat limited, though no doubt hugely profitable,” Hollywood Life Senior Editor Chris Spargo says for the same e-zine.
“After Casey makes her money – and she should try and do it quick – she should head to Europe, Australia, Canada. Just get out of the US as quick as possible. She will never be able to have a life again in this country,” Spargo underlines.
