Casey Anthony will not be doing any interviews anytime soon. Despite rumors to the contrary – and ongoing negotiations with all the major networks – Anthony will be seeking help for mental issues and avoid all contact with the media for the time being, it has emerged. Not long ago, Anthony’s attorney was
in talks with NBC, ABC and CBS for her first post-jail interview, admittedly one of the hottest topics of interest in recent months, which would have translated into solid ratings for whatever network landed the exclusive.
Either because the story broke long before negotiations were complete (and the public reacted negatively to the idea), or because this was never the plan, the Anthony exclusive is not happening anymore,
TMZ reports.
“Casey Anthony won’t be sitting down with ABC, NBC, CBS or any other network for at least a couple of months – TMZ has learned Casey will be seeking professional treatment for serious mental issues instead,” the e-zine reports.
“Sources close to Anthony tell us, Casey is seeking treatment for three reasons: First, Casey now realizes that her questionable behavior when her daughter Caylee went missing back in 2008 stemmed from ‘obvious mental health issues’,” the same report argues.
“The second reason – Casey still needs help coping with the ‘obvious trauma of losing her child’,” TMZ says.
The third reason why she’s seeking treatment is that she spent the past 3 years of her life under lockdown in a tiny cell, while being on trial for murder.
It would have been enough to drive a stronger woman mad, says the insider. “It messed with her head,” adds the spy.
Nevertheless, choosing not to do the interview now doesn’t mean that Anthony will
never speak out, TMZ informs.
On the contrary, she’s leaving that door open: her attorney will continue to look at offers for interviews, and Anthony will do the first whenever she feels ready for it, on her own terms.
