After last week’s shock sentencing of Casey Anthony as not guilty of killing her 2-year-old daughter Caylee, there’s been lots of negativity directed towards her and the 12 jurors. Some of that has now transformed into troubling death threats.

Now awaiting to be sprung free from jail, Casey is being targeted in a series of death threats that seem to be coming from a single person, TMZ reports.

The jurors who said she was not guilty of murdering Caylee are also targeted.

“Someone is threatening to kill Casey Anthony, her lawyers, and the jurors who found her ‘not guilty’ of murdering her daughter – this according to Casey’s attorney Cheney Mason,” TMZ writes.

“Mason tells TMZ his team has been receiving ‘all kinds of threats’ at his office since the controversial verdict came in, including ‘one we just turned over to law enforcement’,” the e-zine further notes.

An investigation into the threats is probably underway, with the aim to determine who went to such extremes as to threaten the alleged baby killer.

“There are reports Casey’s parents are also being targeted and have gone into hiding. For his part, Mason doesn’t seem worried. He laughed off the threats claiming the people behind them are simply ‘cowards’,” TMZ also says.

Last week, Jennifer Ford, formerly known solely as “Juror no. 3,” spoke out about the much-mediated verdict, explaining that it wasn’t an easy decision to make but, at the same time, the only one possible.

Ford said prosecutors did not present the case in such a way as to provide actual evident that Anthony is the killer, which meant they couldn’t give her the death penalty while there was still some chance she was actually innocent of the crime she was accused of.

The juror also revealed that the only two options they had was not guilty or the death penalty, which meant that made their choice that much harder, as we also noted at the time.
