14 DAY TRIAL // Ever since she was sprung from jail after being acquitted in the case of her daughter's death, Casey Anthony has been in hiding. A new report claims she's turned to religion in the hope it might offer her a chance to start a new life.
Sources close to the 26-year-old tell Radar Online that she's been thinking of doing something that might symbolize a fresh start in life, and she's decided to get baptized.
The e-zine doesn't say whether Casey is also turning religious, or whether she's found strength to get over her daughter's brutal murder with its help.
“She figured getting baptized would be the best way start this new chapter in her life. It's a new beginning,” the insider is quoted as saying.
“Casey believes that Caylee is with God now and wants to ensure her own salvation so that she'll see her daughter again someday,” the same source is quoted as saying.
Anthony was accused of Caylee's murder, who was just 2 years old at the time she went missing.
Prosecutors brought irrefutable proof in court that she lied about the day the child went missing, as well as about why she took so long before she reported Caylee's disappearance.
The 2-year-old's body wasn't found until some time after the trial had started.
Whereas most Americans considered Anthony guilty, the jury did not feel the same way. After the intensely mediated trial, she was acquitted, and is now in hiding at an undisclosed location.
Earlier this year, what was believed to be a video diary belonging to Anthony leaked online, together with photos taken after she had gone into hiding.
In one of the videos, Casey was sporting a blonde, short 'do, and was talking about adopting a puppy and getting her ear pierced.
She also complained of being alone and never having anything to call her own, not even a computer.
Before that and shortly after she walked out of jail, rumors were saying she was thinking of getting a complete surgical makeover to ensure she could get out of the house without being booed or, even worse, attacked.
