Lifetime is now working on a movie about the trial that captivated the entire US, if not the world: the trial of Casey Anthony, in which she was charged with the murder of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee. Holly Deveaux will be playing her, it has been confirmed.

The film doesn't aim to make a victim of Anthony, as neither does it plan to have her on trial again.

It will, however, focus on the events during the trial as seen through the eyes of Florida prosecutor Jeff Ashton, played by Rob Lowe.

Deveaux hails from Canada and is yet a relatively new face on the scene – however, it's safe to say people will know her name from now on.

Asked whether she's nervous about doing the part, Holly admits she's terrified, People reports.

She's not yet ready for this kind of controversy, “definitely not,” she says.

“It's nerve-wracking to combat such a controversial issue as well, the outpouring of negativity for Casey Anthony is unlike anything we've seen in the media in years,” the 19-year-old says.

Still, she's both excited and nervous to be offered this unique chance of portraying such a character, because it's not one you come across every day.

“Heaping amounts of both!” she says when asked whether she's more nervous or more excited about the project.

“I'm not going to make her into anything she is not. The fact of it, beyond any verdicts in court, is that she was someone struggling through what was undoubtedly the most difficult trial of a lifetime,” Deveaux says.

Tentatively called “Prosecuting Casey Anthony,” the film is based on Ashton's memoirs “Imperfect Justice: Prosecuting Casey Anthony.”

The prosecutor still believes Anthony got away with murder as, obviously, so do millions of other people, which is what makes this project so controversial.

Asked about it, Rob Lowe promised it would be interesting, “compelling,” as we also reported a short while ago.
