Following the decrease in popularity of the “Star Wars” saga with its recent episodes, more and more fans demanded a return to the classic movie's beginnings. Someone from the studio's bras seems to have taken heed and brought in the actors from the original cast.

Carrie Fisher, who played Princess Leia in the first episodes of “Star Wars,” confirmed in an interview that she would reprise her role for Episode 7, along other original cast members such as Mark Hamill who played Luke Skywalker and Harrison Ford who played Han Solo.

Fisher, now 57, said she would like to also wear the costume she had in the original movie and the iconic hairstyle. “I'd like to wear my old [cinnamon buns] hairstyle again – but with white hair. I think that would be funny,” she told TV Guide.

Mark Hamill refused to disclose any details on the matter in a recent Q&A on Reddit, claiming that he had no knowledge of the matter, but Fisher seems to be a little more loose-lipped with her information.

The trio of original actors have long been rumored to take an active part in the making of Episode VII, but, so far, the studio has kept mum about it.

The only reports coming in these days from official channels are that the working on the script has been completed and now the production process has begun.

“Star Wars: Episode VII” is set for release on December 18, 2015 and might just as well the episode that brings back the charm to the entire series, especially if you take into consideration the fact that it's going to be directed by J.J Abrams.

The only question that remains is if this significantly older cast will be able to play on our feelings of nostalgia and actually turn this movie into a success. All the recent signs point to a definite yes. May the Force be with them!
