Carrie Fisher has had plenty of time to revisit the character that placed her in popular culture and made stars out of her and that golden bikini. The actress had some interesting things to say about coming back on the cast of the Star Wars films after all these years, during her recent appearance at the Hay Festival in Wales.

The Guardian quotes Fisher as referring to the other aging cast members as looking “a little melted.” “We all look a little melted. It's good to see other melted people,” she added with a smile. “And it is good to have us all in a room because it's unique. I mean, I don't suppose they have reunions for the Gone With The Wind gang.”

Carrie also addressed her character, which she dropped out of drama school in 1977 to play, when she was just 19 years old. “We are doing it over again so I can get Princess Leia right this time. I think less British. I looked a little pretentious faking the accent. It was sort of a viral accent – it came and went,” the actress admitted.

Reminiscing about her time on set, she did concede that she had a lot of fun in the scene where she was supposed to kill Jabba the Hutt. “I had a lot of fun killing Jabba the Hutt. They asked me on the day if I wanted to have a stunt double kill Jabba. No! That's the best time I ever had as an actor. And the only reason to go into acting is if you can kill a giant monster,” Fisher joked.

The actress lost a lot of weight for the role, which made her quip in another interview that the producers only hired half of her for the role. When asked whether her famous cinnamon buns hairdo was making a return, she explained, “That hairdo can never really be repeated without gales of laughter.”

But that doesn’t mean that she didn’t insist to the producers that they give her back her signature hairdo: “I've begged them to put the hair back on in grey and just catch me cooking with the hair, like Granny Leia.”

So far, the only information that has transpired from the plot is that it’s going to take place 30 years after the events of the last movie in the timeline, which would explain why all the characters have aged.

“Star Wars: Episode VII” is directed by J.J. Abrams and is set to open in theaters on December 18, 2015.
