The old gang will be coming back to the big screen in “Star Wars VII,” it has been confirmed. After Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill signed on for cameos in the upcoming Disney film, Carrie Fisher has also announced she’d be back.
That’s right, Princess Leia will return.
“Disney is going to continue the Star Wars saga, producing movies set to hit theaters starting in 2015. Can you confirm whether you’ll reprise the role of Princess Leia?” she was asked during a recent press call, as cited by Cinema Blend.
“Yes,” Fisher answered, making the dreams of millions of fanboys and girls come true.
As for how Princess Leia might have changed all these years, Fisher says, “Elderly. She’s in an intergalactic old folks’ home [laughs]. I just think she would be just like she was before, only slower and less inclined to be up for the big battle.”
The next installment of “Star Wars” will be directed by J.J. Abrams and will be out in 2015.
