Carphone Warehouse, the largest independent mobile phone retailer in the UK, has released a report titled “The Christmas Big Sellers,” touting the Apple iPad as the product topping every wish-list in the country.

The British retailer acknowledges that “every year a new device bags the award for the most popular Christmas present,” and this year’s top choice is the iPad.

Better yet, two iPad models are fighting for the first place, the company says. The battle is between the ultra-portable iPad mini and the iPad with Retina display, or the fourth-generation full-size model.

The Carphone Warehouse report looks at both tablets’ specifications and concludes that nothing exists in the market that can beat them.

“With both iPads delivering 10 hours of battery life, something only the Asus Transformer Prime and Transformer Pad can live with thanks to the second batteries in their keyboard docks, usage isn't limited by your access to a mains supply,” says the retailer.

Carphone recommends the more powerful iPad 4 as a home device, while also recommending it to “those that want the best tablet experience.” The company is selling the tablet for £389 / $630 / €479.

According to the retailer, “iPad mini is the portable choice, and will be great for younger users and teenagers due to smaller size and its lower retails price.”

Claiming to offer tablets at the best prices across the UK, Carphone encourages Christmas shoppers to pay them a visit at carphonewarehouse.com and check out the offers.

This year seems to be all about the iPad as the United States is pretty much in the same boat with the UK, as far as Christmas wishes go.

Kids want everything that has an “i” in front of it, whether it’s an iPad, and iPod touch, and even the iPhone 5.
