After a marriage that lasted less than three years, the 'Playboy' model and husband rocker announced yesterday that they are 'separating amicably'.
Carmen and Dave met on a blind date and it was 'love at first sight'. In 2003, both agreed to appear in their own MTV reality show, presenting footage of their wedding preparations and ceremony, 'Till Death Do Us Part'.
Earlier this year, Dave fought back allegations that there was any trouble in Paradise and claimed that, although they were working hard to make their relationship work, there was no talk about divorce: 'The truth is, we definitely work quite a bit. Our work takes us away from home quite a bit. She goes overseas, and there are times when I'm away from her. It sucks, I'll say that'.
On the other side, Carmen claimed the same thing - that their marriage was far from crumbling apart: 'We're fine! I'm not saying we're having the perfect marriage or that we're the perfect couple, but we're damn pretty good. If there were trouble, I wouldn't have my ring on. I would not walk around and pretend'.
This is the third failed marriage for Dave and the second for Carmen. Her previous 'serious' commitment was to Dennis Rodman and it lasted less than a year.
The publicist of the couple refused to offer the details behind of what is already called the second divorce due to the 'MTV curse' (the first being, of course, that of Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey, who also starred in their own reality show, 'Newlyweds').
