Carmageddon Reincarnation, the reboot of the cult classic brutal racing video game franchise, is still alive and kicking and aims to enter public beta testing on February 14.

Celebrating the most "romantic" consumer holiday by raking in points for pedestrian kills sounds just like what good old Carmageddon is all about, and the newly released gameplay trailer shows just how to do it.

Developer Stainless Games has been pretty quiet since March last year, when Carmageddon Reincarnation made its appearance on Steam Early Access, but the devs have been hard at work and are now ready to launch the game into beta.

All owners of the Early Access edition of the game will be able to update to the public beta version and try out a ton of new features, including Career Mode, Freeplay and Multiplayer. The game already has all the Achivements and Challenges locked, and there are a ton of cars, levels and arenas to dish out punishment in.

A new explosive trailer

The devs have released a brand new promo video celebrating the release, showing off the incredibly advanced car damage engine in Carmageddon Reincarnation and the wealth of implements of destruction that you can tack onto vehicles to deal with those pesky pedestrians.

The game has come a long way since its Kickstarter origins and is shaping up to be a really unique experience, offering a ton of exciting action, next to all the recently released and upcoming racing simulation games focusing on the boring side of driving.

In addition to this, the developers reiterated that their original offer, consisting of all three previous games being given for free with every purchase of Carmageddon Reincarnation, still stands.

If you buy the game on Steam Early Access, you'll also get Carmageddon Max Pack, Carmageddon 2: Carpocalypse Now, and Carmageddon TDR 2000.
