It's brutal, you can wreck cars and run over grannies, what's more to ask for?

Carmageddon: Reincarnation seems to be getting ever closer, and following suspension demos and a car damage trailer, it now got the first video showing actual gameplay footage.

Following in the footsteps of the hit classic title, it seems to be less worried about finishing the race on time and navigating a circuit in an orderly fashion and more concerned with drifting over that poor helpless granny. For points.

Carmageddon: Reincarnation looks like the perfect racing game for folks who plain hate cars, as by the looks of it, they’ll be able to wreck loads of them. The only concern is whether running over civilians will feel as brutal and splashy as it did in the 1997 original.

The trailer shows Stainless Games’ creation in an early alpha incarnation, alleviating the fears of those who thought that the company is trying to compete with boring racing games. Instead, the whole experience looks (from a conceptual level) like a sort of twisted sandbox game with cars, only you destroy stuff instead of building.

The game’s Kickstarter backers are already playing it as we speak, as the developer has made it available through Steam earlier this month, and Carmageddon: Reincarnation is going to be fully available on Steam Early Access starting next week, on March 27.
