Carly Rae Jepsen is all for marriage equality and civil rights, so she refuses to perform for the notoriously anti-gay Boy Scouts of America. The singer has pulled out of a July event.

She and band Train were booked to perform at the National Scout Jamboree in Mount Hope, West Virginia but she’s already broken the news to her fans on Twitter not to expect to see her there.

Her decision has been prompted by BSA’s fierce anti-gay policy, which includes a ban on gay scouts and scout leaders.

“As an artist who believes in equality for all people, I will not be participating in the Boy Scouts of America Jamboree this summer,” Jepsen tweeted.

“I always have and will continue to support the LGBT community on a global level... and stay informed on the ever changing landscape in the ongoing battle for gay rights in this country and across the globe,” she added.

Train canceled as well, but they say they will be up to perform if BSA goes back on the ban and lifts it.
