14 DAY TRIAL // Owners of devices powered by Microsoft’s Windows Phone operating system can now enjoy a new Twitter client on their handsets, in the form of Carbon.
Coming from dot1ne, the new application will bring twitter on your home screen, providing you with fast access to timeline, messages, mentions and the like.
Designed to take full advantage of the Metro user interface that Windows Phone was made available with, the new application is simple and easy to use, while packing a unique set of features, it’s developers note.
As stated above, the app will bring Saved Searches, Retweets, lists and all of users’ Twitter activity straight on the home screen.
“All of Twitter on one screen. No need to tap many buttons to reach to desired timelines. Apart from your all day timelines, Lists, Saved Searches, Retweets, all accessible through a unique timeline called Quick Line,” the application’s description reads.
“Images right on the Timeline, if you choose to enable it! Get a full view of images without even leaving the Timeline.”
With Carbon, it is very simple to come up with a reply to a tweet. All you have to do is double tap the original. Moreover, the app enables you to do so without leaving the timeline.
The software also provides support for accessing the profile from the home screen without having to go to a new screen for that.
“Oh, and tiles! Compose Tile, pin this beautiful tile on your phone's home screen and start tweeting in seconds without having to open the whole application. You can do the same with a Search Tile,” the app’s developer notes.
“Live tiles too! So you don't miss any of your mentions or messages notifications. And if we add more tiles, we'll be starting a flooring business.”
The application arrives with Multi Account support, along with Custom URL shortening, Threaded Direct Messages, image and video previews, and Read Later and Image Upload capabilities.
