Quirky model Cara Delenvigne has managed to weasel her way into the cast of Joe Wrights' “Pan” movie, a reinvention of the classic tale of Peter Pan. Deadline reports that Cara has landed a role in the live-action adaptation of Peter Pan, in the form of a mermaid.

Delevingne, who is the darling of several fashion outlets such as Burberry, DKNY and Victoria's Secret, made her on-screen debut with her role as Princess Sorokina in the 2012 “Anna Karenina.” This time, she'll be ditching her period clothes for something a little more revealing.

“It will be quite a demanding role as there will be a lot of underwater work and stunts,” says one source, adding that “Filming underwater could scare a lot of actresses but Cara is definitely up for the challenge.”

The cast of the movie is definitely star-studded, as Hugh Jackman has been confirmed for the role of Blackbeard, Garrett Hedlund has been confirmed as Hook, Rooney Mara as Tiger Lily, Levi Miller as Peter, and Amanda Seyfried as Mary.

The script was written by Jason Fuschs and aims to take the story of the film in a whole new direction regarding Peter Pan's origin, based on the classic characters created by J. M. Barrie. The movie is going to be released in theaters worldwide starting July 17, 2015.
