Car2go Rents Electric Vehicles for 29 Cents a Minute

In November, Car2go will starts its electric vehicle car-sharing program in Amsterdam. The company will put 300 smart vehicles on the city's streets so that customers can enjoy a zero-carbon-emission ride while paying only 26 cents for every minute spent in the vehicle.

In order to keep the fun going, 1,000 charging units will be available until 2012. As we speak, 250 charging station are already functioning in Amsterdam.

You might even notice you don't actually need to visit one, since officials from Car2go state that "the range of the smart fortwo electric drive is eight to ten times higher than the average operating distance of a car2go rental."

The 300 electric vehicles will be available for potential clients starting November 24th. If you are interested in renting one, all you have to do is take $10 out of your pockets to sign in. Afterwards, you will have to pay 29 cents for every minute spent in the vehicle, 12.90 Euros for an hour or 39 Euro for 24 hours.

The company applied a blue/white color pattern for every single vehicle. This way, you won't be able to miss this great deal, while you're enjoying your holiday in Amsterdam.
