Captain America: Super Soldier Game Revealed by Sega

Sega is continuing its partnership with comic book company Marvel and has announced that it is developing a title based on the popular Captain America hero, entitled Captain America: Super Soldier, that will debut alongside the official movie set to be released next year.

Sega isn't at its first super hero game, as it was also responsible for Iron Man 1 and 2 titles, and also confirmed that it is working on a game based on Norse God Thor, which will also hit the market next year, alongside the feature-length movie.

The new game with Captain America is a third person action adventure, with the American hero forced to go through many battles in order to stop his arch enemy Red Skull and the nefarious Hydra organization.

"Wielding Captain America's legendary shield, gamers will engage in free-flowing combat and acrobatic platforming to infiltrate Hydra's mysterious castle and battle the infamous Iron Cross, the forces of Hydra, and a host of nefarious enemies serving the Red Skull," explains Sega.

Sega promises "a highly athletic combat system with fluid platforming and a highly tuned suite of shield attacks," as you fight your way through a "massive castle-turned-military installation".

Comic book fans and Captain America ones will be thrilled to hear that the game's story will be penned by Christos Gage, the same writer who is leading Marvel's Avengers: The Initiative series of comics, and who also worked on film and TV projects before.

While Sega is hyping the game with all of its efforts, we're still a bit reticent, especially since the already released Iron Man 1 and 2 failed to meet expectations and just hurt the image of the comic book hero.

Hopefully with the Thor and Captain America titles the Japanese company will make amends and treat the intellectual properties with the respect they deserve.
