Capitol Records Removes Evidence of the Beatles' Health Threatening Habits

There will be no more pictures of the band members smoking

In this ever-developing world of political correctness and health awareness, the big shots from Capitol Records are going a bit overboard in order to protect their listeners from taking up negative examples from their favorite stars.

We all know that the Beatles lived in a time where teens were taking over the world with their liberating and pacifying message. Everybody smoked, did drugs, made love not war and so on.
Well, the Beatles were no different, were they? Is that good, is that bad? Some might say that it's only history and just because they partied harder than other people doesn't mean that listeners today will take up the same habits.

But some people do not agree and they are doing everything they can to protect today's listeners from the craziness of past decades. In order to do that Capitol Records teamed up with some photo shop program and erased dangerous details from the covers of the Beatles' compilation LP 'Capitol Albums Volume 2', which is to be re-released on April 3.

All evidences of the band's smoking habits have been covered. Cigarettes disappeared from the band members' hands and drummer Ringo Starr got the worst treatment as two of his fingers (the ones holding a cigarette, obviously) have been unmercifully chopped off.

Next possible move: the removal from all albums and compilations of Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds and Strawberry Fields Forever. What will be left of them in time only Capitol Records' management knows.
