The biggest Capcom reveal for Gamescom 2012 was the new action title Remember Me, an action adventure that’s set in the near future, and it seems that the company has long-term plans for the new intellectual property.

Michael Pattison, who is the leader of marketing for Capcom in both Europe and the United States, told MCV that, “I was searching on the internet at the time and saw some of this concept art, and I was taken aback. So we took a trip over to Paris and it all happened very quickly.”

It seems that companies were impressed with the quality of the new game and were ready to sign with the development team but Capcom managed to move the fastest.

Pattison added, “There were a number of very high profile publishers looking at it at the time and in fact there were deals waiting to be signed when we arrived. Capcom is not usually that quick to make decisions, but as soon as we saw this we had to put our hat in the ring.”

The marketing executive believes that the team at Dontnod Entertainment has a lot of potential when it comes to the action adventure genre and they can deliver an experience that will quickly get fans and will be able to power the success of a series in the long term.

Remember Me takes place during 2084 and the player will inhabit the body of a character named Nilin, who is a memory hunter and an amnesiac who is hunting for people on the streets of a futuristic Paris.

Capcom and Dontnod Entertainment only offered limited information on the game, but they say that its mechanics will revolutionize the genre.

Remember Me will be launched on the PC, the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 during May of next year.
