Video game publisher Capcom says that it has lost the rights to the Tatsunoko universe, which means that the company will no longer be able to sell its own Tatsunoko vs Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars and will not be working on any future fighting games that include characters from it.

Christian Svensson, one of the vice presidents at Capcom, states on the official forums of the company that, “Our rights with Tatsunoko have lapsed fairly recently (so we’re no longer allowed to sell the title physically or digitally).”

Tatsunoko vs Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars was launched for the Nintendo Wii home console and it was already pretty much impossible to find in retail stores.

At the moment, Capcom is working with Namco Bandai on a cross-over between their two flagship fighting game series, Tekken and Street Fighter.
