Cantata 1.4.1, a client for the music player daemon (MPD) that originally started as a fork of QtMPC, has been released and is now available for download.

Cantata 1.4.1 can be compiled with KDE support or as a pure Qt4 application. The previous update was very generous and introduced quite a few new features, and it looks like the current one is also quite extensive.

According to the changelog, an unused var warning that occurred when compiling without online services has been fixed, MPDScribble has been removed from the list of scrobblers, XML files from Last.fm are now decoded properly, an extra margin in the podcast settings dialog has been removed, the "center on current track" action is now enabled only if there is a current track running, and a crash in the settings dialog that occurred when some system-tray options were removed has been fixed.

Also, compilation with older FFMpeg versions has been fixed, the KDE cmake macro is now used to enable exceptions in the KDE builds, the ReplayGain settings are only valid for MPD v0.16 onwards, and the "Add albums in random order" option has been removed from the search view context menu.

The complete changelog can be found in the announcement. You can download Cantata 1.4.1 right now from the official website.
