V12 Design is an Italian/Australian industrial design and engineering studio known for its innovative and original creations. Among their latest products, one can come across the spectacular Canova notebook.

Canova is especially designed for creative minds, integrating a dual touch-sensitive display, which can function as a sketch pad, a music score and graph paper. The stylish notebook is carved out of stainless steel and carbon fiber, being laser cut
in order to impress users with nice rims and sheens. The touchscreens are comfortably accessed via an electronic pen, helped by impressive dedicated hardware. This ingenious combination brings the slick device to life, while users can simultaneously operate the two massive touch-sensitive LCD screens. One of these displays can be programmed to work as a touch-sensitive keyboard, allowing users to type easier. The virtual keyboard can be 100% customized, including programmable hot keys, extended language support, skins and definable key configurations.

With these impressive devices, graphic designers and digital music creators can forget about regular laptops, which limit them to a keyboard and mouse configuration. Not even a graphics tablet, which may offer only one large touchscreen can stand a chance against the dual display notebook. Just think of the possible combinations opened by the spiffy design. While the bottom screen would act as a keyboard, the second one may be used as a piano keyboard or a music mixer. If you are an artist, you might display guiding photo on one of the screens, while painting it on the second one. The Canova notebook can also be oriented to work as a paperback, allowing users to read books, magazines and newspapers in a natural way.

This interesting concept may be mass produced by 2012, as the current implementation costs a small fortune.
