Canonical has managed to get all four Nexus devices that have been originally proposed for Ubuntu Touch to work under Mir.

The work that hass been done for the Mir display server has been considerable, but so far, only the Nexus 4 enjoyed the new Mir and Unity 8 support.

This has now changed, even if it be will quite a while until the changes are officially released in the main development branch that is available for users.

Canonical's Kevin Dubois has showcased Mir running on all four Nexus devices: Nexus 10 (ARM Mali T-604 GPU), Nexus 4 (Qualcomm Adreno 320 GPU), Nexus 7 (2012) (Nvidia Tegra 3), and Galaxy Nexus (PowerVR).

This is important for a number of reasons, but the most important is that all the devices mentioned above are working on different hardware.

“The only disclaimer on the video is that some of the code hasn’t trickled to the images yet, and the tablet support is still a work in progress. Onwards and upwards!” said Kevin in his blog post.
