Canonical is set to integrate new packages in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) and they’re not limiting themselves to Linux kernel and a few others. One of their plans is to have the latest Mesa 10.0 ready for launch.

Canonical developers have announced that the newly released Mesa 10.0 is now available in the official trusty PPA.

“The mesa 10.0.0 release is available for testing at ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/ppa for trusty. A patch is required for xorg-server which is not in saucy, without it indirect opengl will not load,” said Maarten Lankhorst in a mailing list post.

A few problems are still present, and Maarten has urged people to test more 32-bit applications. Also, LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT=1 is broken when glamor acceleration is used on Radeon.

According to the developer, Mesa 10 will be uploaded next Monday.
