Ubuntu In-vehicle Infotainment (IVI) and Ubuntu TV showcased at CES 2012 by Canonical

Softpedia has been informed that Canonical plans to make an exclusive demonstration of an Ubuntu TV and Ubuntu In-vehicle Infotainment (IVI) at CES 2012.

Canonical announced a couple of days ago that it will be present, for the first time, at the CES 2012 (Consumer Electronics Show) event, in Las Vegas, US.

This year at CES, Canonical’s goal is to demonstrate Ubuntu "inside" a wide mixture of devices and electronics in 2012. From TVs, mobile phones, tablets, cars, and more.

Ubuntu TV has a user interface powered by the controversial Unity interface and allows users to view rent, buy, record, and play movies and TV shows.

An YouTube video browser and player is also provided, as well as a music player. It allows offers the possibility to view TV guides of local TV channels, and easily search your purchased, ranted or recorded movies.

The CES (Consumer Electronics Show) event, will take place next week, between 10th and 13th January, in Las Vegas, US, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Canonical's booth can be found in the upper level of South Hall 4, being located at 35379, within the Las Vegas Convention Center.
