Canonical is hard at work on Ubuntu 13.10 (Saucy Salamander), and it has just released a small communique about the Unity progress made in the new operating system.

Canonical plans to improve Unity for Ubuntu 13.10 (Saucy Salamander), and its efforts can be easily seen in the changes it has implemented so far.

“There has been good progress on the Unity action API, with all API implemented and mostly documented. Test coverage is at a good level at 94%. Plan is to finish documentation and integrate API in saucy (& device images) and SDK this week,” stated Thomas Strehl in the official mailing list.

Highlights of the latest Unity updates:

• The infographics API has been complemented; • The backend for datetime indicator has been merged; • The bluetooth and sync indicators will be ready soon; • The work on the HUD for 13.10 has been completed.

A complete list of improvements for Unity can be seen in the announcement.
