Canonical has a very dedicated team building the Mir display server, and they are updating it on a constant basis. Version 0.1.3 has just been released.

The Mir displayer server has missed the Ubuntu 13.10 development cycle, but Canonical is pushing for an Ubuntu 14.10 release.

Highlights of Mir Display Server 0.1.3:

• Latency information has been added to InputReport and InputReceiverRepor; • EGL_KHR_surfaceless_context is now preferred over dummy pbuffer surfaces; • Fixture has been fixed in order to run an in-process Mir server; • A build problem with the current chroot setup has been fixed; • Timestamps has been added to log messages and change the prefix format to be more like that of kernel/Xorg logs.

A complete list of improvements can be found in the official changelog. Download Mir Display Server 0.1.3 right now from Softpedia.

Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
