MySQL has been updated to 5.1.72 in Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, and Ubuntu 12.10.Ubuntu 13.04 and Ubuntu 13.10 have been updated to MySQL 5.5.34.

The security flaws can be fixed if you upgrade your system(s) to the latest mysql-server package specific to each distribution. To apply the new firmware, run the Update Manager application.

In general, a standard system update will make all the necessary changes. A system restart will not be necessary to implement them.
