Canon has just made available new firmware packages targeted at some of its imagePROGRAF multifunction printers, which can be applied only by using the producer’s latest firmware update tool, namely version 3.40.

In order to be clear, Canon has updated its imagePROGRAF iPF605, iPF6300S, and iPF8300S MFPs to version 1.09, 1.10, and 1.11, respectively, as well as the iPF510 and iPF610 devices to firmware 1.42.

When it comes to changes, while the iPF510, iPF605, and iPF610 printers only get their convenience of production improved, the other two units receive various fixes for some issues.

Specifically speaking, the iPF6300S and iPF8300S-related packages resolve the rare problem where the IP address wasn’t set correctly causing the print process to fail, as well as the one where the “Printer Info” couldn’t be displayed in some situations.

Moreover, the occasional error that caused printing to fail has been fixed for both printers, and in addition to that, the iPF8300S alone doesn’t encounter any display problems when Italian language is selected.

As for applying the packages, first save and install the Firmware Update Tool 3.40 (FUT), then get the proper downloadable update file for your printer, copy it into the “Data” folder of the Update Tool, and run the FUT from the Start menu.

That being said, from the links below, follow the one that best describes your printer model, download both the firmware file and the FUT, and upgrade your MFP to the latest software version.
