Canon is well known for its high-quality cinema cameras, from the smaller EOS C100 to the award winning EOS-1D C camera, and today it released a new firmware update for 4 of its EOS Cinema camera.

Through these new firmware versions, a couple of important shooting enhancements have been made. The EOS C100 received an extended ISO range to 80,000, making the camera's image sensor more sensitive than ever before.

After this firmware update, you will be able to control the internal camera menus directly from the buttons on the camera's body. The ability to shift the magnification location in the viewfinder has also been added along with a Record button lock.

ISO range was also extended to 80,000 for the EOS C300 and C300 PL cameras, along with Wide DR Gamma and 1440x1080-pixel HD video output at 35Mbps and 60i or 50i frame rate.

Among the On-Set improvements made for EOS C300 / C300 PL, we find Push Auto Iris/One-Shot AF, GPS support, the ability to assign ISO and Iris Operation to the Control Dial, as well as multi-person login for the Canon Wi-Fi remote application.

The new firmware for the award-winning EOS-1D C camera comes with enhanced flicker reduction, as well as sound recording with line input.

Peripheral and chromatic aberration correction for select Canon cinema lenses has also been added through this new firmware update for every model listed above.

The firmware update for the EOS-1D C camera will be made by Canon USA free of charge if you can ship your EOS-1D C camera to them. An update for the EOS C500 and C500 PL models is also scheduled for December 2013.
