The Canon EOS Rebel SL1 was launched over a year ago and now Canon is looking to revitalize the product, by offering the camera with a new color option.

It’s a bit puzzling why Canon had to wait a year to bring out the white version onto the market, but we suppose later is better than never. The white camera will arrive with the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens, plus two other lenses.

First stop, the EF 16-35mm f/4L IS USM is compatible with all EOS Digital SLR cameras, including full-frames such as the EOS 5D Mark III and EOS 6D Digital SLR cameras.

The wide-angle zoom lenses will deliver high image quality and will arrive bundled with an Optical Image Stabilizer (IS) for shake correction.

The lenses will provide up to four shutter speed steps, so photographers will be able to perform handheld shooting in dimly lit environments.

The ultra-wide-angle zoom lenses are especially designed to play nice and enhance Canon’s new quality optics incorporating three Glass-Molded aspheric lens elements. For example, the large-diameter aspheric lens is in charge of correcting aberrations, thus boosting the quality of your pics.

The EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM lens is compatible with Canon EOS 70D, EOS Rebel T5i, EOS Rebel SL1 and other EOS Digital SLR cameras with APS-C-size sensors.

The lenses will appeal to users looking for wallet-friendly wide-angle lenses that will enable them to shoot quality images in taut locations.

The Canon EF 16-35mm f/4L IS USM and the EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM ultra-wide zoom lenses are set to arrive in June and will sell for $1,199 / €871 and $299 / €217.

The Canon EOS Rebel SL1 and EF-S 18.55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens kit in white will set you back with $749.99 / €545.

For those who don’t remember, the Canon EOS Rebel SL1 comes with an 18MP APS-C Hybrid CMOS AF II sensor and a Canon DIGIC 5 processor. The Rebel SL1 can be used to shoot HD video at 1080p full HD and has a frame rate of 30fps, 25fps and 24fps.

The SL1 also has a 3-inch touchscreen LCD display on the back and several creative features that photographers can use to enhance their images after taking the shots.

So there you have it, if the black SL1 was too mainstream for you, in just a month you’ll be able to pick up its white counterpart from Canon’s own official website.
