The new camera might arrive in the wild soon

Canon teased something spectacular and close to the “impossible” this week only to come out with a lousy self-publishing platform that disappointed everybody.

A few days later, Canon Netherlands is teasing us with something more palpable. The folks over at Canon Watch stumbled upon a video yesterday (which has been taken down since then, of course) indicating that Canon might be getting ready to unleash a high-zoom PowerShot premium compact soon.

The mystery camera is showed side-by-side the G1 X Mark II and G7 X and is being touted as “later model.”

The Dutch website also notes “the new model in the Expert Compact range combines a large sensor and powerful zoom for super pictures from afar.”

The website lets you register so you can be notified when the new camera will be available, but if you don’t speak Dutch, keep checking back with us to learn of future developments in the story.

It hasn’t been long since Canon pushed out its latest PowerShot models. At Photokina 2014, the photo gear maker introduced three models, all with a focus on selfie taking.

However, immediately afterwards rumors of the PowerShot compact with large sensor and high zoom made an appearance online. So it might not be long before the new gear makes it out.
