Although most of us never will afford to buy an installation projector there's still something inherently cool about them, Canon's latest flagship model, the XEED WUX4000 managing to best most of their other models that are available right now with its impressive 4000 lumens brightness and WUXGA resolution.

And that is only the tip of the iceberg since its hard to find a single feature the WUX4000 lacks, this projector coming with an motorized horizontal and vertical lens shift that makes life easier for the installer since it allows the image to be repositioned without any picture quality loss, certainly a useful feature when obstructions such as light fittings or air conditioning outlets might hamper the projector's installation.

Furthermore, WUX4000's modular design simplifies the projector's maintenance since the lamp and air filters can be serviced or replaced without uninstalling the unit.

Moving forward, in the specifications list, we also find that the WUX4000 packs an Ethernet network port, PJLink compatible none the less, allowing the projector to be monitored and controlled from anywhere inside the local network.

If you however prefer a more direct approach, Canon's projector comes bundled with a remote handset that can be programmed to operate on any of four different infra-red channels thus enabling independent control of multiple WUX4000 units placed inside the same room.

Add to that the fact that LCOS panel technology usually delivers quite an impressive image quality and you can certainly see why this 1000:1 contrast ratio projector is one of the best options available when it comes down to choosing an installation projector.

“The WUX4000 is an important new entry to the high-resolution installation projector market.

The WUX4000 offers levels of image quality and brightness that rival higher priced WUXGA installation products – providing resellers and integrators with a real alternative in this highly competitive market segment.

Initial feedback received during our recent partner briefings has been extremely positive, suggesting that this is the kind of product that many resellers have been waiting for,” said Julian Rutland, Visual Communication Products and Solutions Director, Canon Europe.

Although Canon did not release any details regarding prices, we do however know the XEED WUX4000 will be available across Europe starting April 2011.
