The short-throw models have a pretty wide range for their size

A new series of projectors has been released by Canon, or will be introduced at the Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2014 exhibition, taking place in the Amsterdam RAI, the Netherlands, between February 4-6, 2014.

Called XEED Compact Installation, they are four in number, two standard ones and two short throw models (ST).

The XEED WUX450 and XEED WX520 (standard models) have WUXGA and WXGA+ (1920 x 1200 and 1440 x 900 pixels, respectively), and so do the short throw models (the XEED WUX400ST and XEED WX450ST).

The only difference is that the latter pair can handle a throw distance of as little as 1.2 meters / 3.93 feet.

Lens shift and 75% vertical shift (on the XEED WUX400ST) are the strongest points here.

Basically, Canon has some really nice projectors ready to ship. You'll have to wait for the prices though.
