"When it rains, it pours" is quite a well-known proverb, and it seems to perfectly describe what has happened over at Canon today. Thus, after a period of relative silence, the company has rolled out a huge line-up of photo-related products, including several digital cameras and no less than 6 (yeah, that's right, six) photo all-in-one printers, dedicated both to the home office and corporate customers. The all-in-ones are a part of two different series, the PIXMA MP and PIXMA MX, and we'll talk about each of them as follows.

The PIXMA MP series includes the MP970, MP610, MP520 model and is targeting mostly home office users. All of the models include such advanced technologies as Auto Image Fix, Advanced Copy Technology, Easy-Scroll Wheel, Quick Start, and two-way paper feeding, helping to increase output quality while making the printers easier to use. However, each of the three models provide certain individual features of their own, which we'll discuss as follows.

Thus, the flagship model in the line, the PIXMA MP970 Photo AIO Printer has a maximum 9600 x 2400 color dots-per-inch, as well as a bright, high-definition 3.5-inch TFT screen. It also sports double-sided printing as a standard feature and Ethernet network capability built-in, as well as an included memory card reader. Moreover, it features quite an advanced scanning unit, since it sports a film-adapter unit and attains a maximum optical resolution of 4800 x 9600 dpi, thus allowing users to scan old slides, negatives and prints to add to their digital library.

The MP610 AIO Photo Printer is a slightly inferior version of the MP970, since it only sports a 2.5-inch TFT screen, and slightly smaller printing speeds. However, the scanning and printing resolutions, as well as the connectivity options are pretty much the same (although the MP610 doesn't have a built-in Ethernet adapter).

Finally, the MP520 sports the same printing and scanning qualities as the previous two models, but lacks some of the extra-features, as for example the TFT display or the extra-connectivity options.

The second series of products released today, which includes the PIXMA MX700, MX310 and MX300 photo all-in-one printers, is aimed especially at the corporate environment, and provides certain $149.99.5 featured targeting especially this market segment. Thus, they provide printing, scanning, copying and faxing capabilities, and have been fitted with automated documents feeders (ADFs), which improve the level of efficiency of the document-related processes.

Thus, the PIXMA MX700 uses a maximum of 4800 x 1200 color dots-per-inch (dpi) resolution and four individual ink tanks for long-lasting prints and laser-sharp documents. Moreover, it can attain printing and copying speeds of up to 30 pages per minute (ppm) in black and 20 ppm in color, and also sports a faster 30-page Auto Document Feeder (ADF), which, combined with the Advanced Copy Technology, allows users to carry out all the necessary document copying jobs in a very small amount of time. It also includes a Super G3 fax module, which allows users to transmit faxes very quickly and with a high level of efficiency. PIXMA MX300 smallest footprint of the Canon Office AIO line, but still includes printing, scanning, copying and faxing applications. Scanning is made easy with the flatbed scanner while Super G3 fax technology transmits faxes rapidly and Canon's Advanced Copy Technology delivers faithful photo and document.

The second model in the series, namely the PIXMA MX310, also provides printing, scanning, copying and faxing capability, including a 30-sheet Auto Document Feeder (ADF), which allows for quick processing of multiple sheets for scanning, copying or faxing. It also provides a 4800 x 1200 color dpi resolution, but the printing speeds are a bit lower than in the case of the previous model.

Finally, the latest model in the series is the PIXMA MX300, which has the smallest footprint of the Canon Office AIO line, but still includes printing, scanning, copying and faxing applications, as well as the Advanced Copy Technology.

And now, the part most of you have probably been waiting for, namely the pricing details. The PIXMA MP970, MP610, and MP520 will retail for $299.99, $199.99 and $149.99 respectively, while the models from the MX series (PIXMA MX700, MX310 and MX300) will be available for around $199.99, $149.99 and $99.99.
