The mirrorless camera might arrive as soon as this autumn

The Canon EOS M is the only mirrorless camera to come out of Canon to be made available in the US, even though the EOS M2 has been released in Japan and China late last year.

However, according to Northern Images, the Canon EOS M3 camera is currently in the pipeline. And it might even make it out into the US, after its official launch later this year.

Word on the street has it that Canon is gearing up to launch an entry-level model and more advanced models in Q3 of 2014. That means that Photokina in September might be the stage where Canon will unveil the EOS M3 mirrorless.

Couple these rumors with the fact that Nikon and Canon haven’t made any big announcement this year and this might be a very good indication that the two photo manufacturers are saving all the goodness for Photokina 2014.

The source has posted two EOS Mmodels, so it makes sense to speculate the two will be split into level and prosumer.

Canon has previously publically re-affirmed its commitment to its EOS M line, saying they will continue to develop cameras and lenses. Another possibility is that we’re going to see the EOS M2 be re-launched, possibly in the States too.
