After the success of its first mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera, the EOS M, Canon is rumored to have their second mirrrorless camera ready for launch sometime next year.

According to CanonRumors, the new Canon EOS M2 will be finally revealed to the public in early 2014. The EOS M2 is expected to have the same 20mp sensor as the Canon 70D DSLR, improved autofocus capabilities and a smaller size.

As its predecessor, Canon EOS M2 will be compatible with the full range of Canon EF and EF-S lenses using an optional EF-EOS M mount adapter.

Canon EOS M was released in October 2012 bundled with the EF-M 22m f/2 STM lens at a price of $799.99 / €598 and is now available for $599.99 / €448. Price is still unknown for the upcoming Canon EOS M2 mirrorless camera, but we expect new rumors to emerge as the reveal date gets closer.
