Canon EOS M2 was just announced by the Japanese and Chinese branches of the renowned optics manufacturer and everyone was expecting an announcement for the US and European market.

According to CanonRumors, CanonUSA has no plans to announce the EOS M2 for the US market any time soon. In addition to that, various sources from Europe also reported that there's no intention at the moment to announce Canon's second mirrorless digital camera.

It seems for now that the new Canon EOS M2 will only be available for the Asian market following the same path as the Canon EF-M 11-22mm IS STM lens, which is still not available in the US.

If we look at the figures, the first Canon mirrorless camera was very well received in Asia and sold more units than in Europe or the US, so this time it's possible that Canon decided to introduce the new EOS M2 only in Asia and probably will announce it for the other markets sometime next year.
